What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a rehab based profession that uses a combination of hands on manual therapy, rehabilitative techniques, education and therapy modalities to help treat a broad range of conditions. These range from musculoskeletal conditions to circulatory, respiratory and nervous system conditions.

Blair Dewtie

Blair Dewtie, PT, is a 2022 Physiotherapy School graduate from Glasgow Caledonian University and 2019 Human Kinetics graduate from St. Francis Xavier University.

Blair grew up within the Pictou County and Nova Scotia sporting community, playing hockey and baseball from youth to junior leagues. Blair has previously assisted as trainer for the Weeks U18 Majors Hockey Team and most recently as an assistant coach with the WearWell Bombers U15 Major Hockey Team.

He has completed courses in orthopaedic manual therapy and emphasizes a client centred approach blending hands on manual therapy and functional rehab techniques. Blair looks forward to assisting all clients with their individual functional and fitness goals.

What to expect on your First visit

  1. After booking your initial consult, you will be emailed your intake forms to complete online prior to your visit
  2. During your first appointment, Tara will review the information on the forms and ask additional questions to learn more about your past and current healthcare needs
  3. Tara will perform a physical examination to complete your assessment and begin treatment
  4. A treatment plan will be discussed and you'll be on your path to recovery!

Please wear comfortable clothes that you can move in and bring any medical referrals to your appointment.
