Dr. Megan Wakeham, ND, DOMP
(Naturopathic Doctor, Osteopath)
Dr. Meg is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto and the College of Osteopathy Halifax Campus (CEO). Born just outside of Halifax, Meg discovered her passion for the complexity of the human body and her love for natural healing while attending MSVU to complete her Bachelor’s of Science in biology and nutrition. She continued to pursue this passion by earning her ND degree, including additional training in paediatrics and her DOMP. Combined she has 12 years of post secondary education.
Dr. Meg's approach to healing emphasizes nourishing all aspects of wellbeing through individualized treatment plans that are collaborative, empowering, and compassionate. Her treatment modalities include nutrition and lifestyle counselling, acupuncture, botanical medicine, and physical medicine. As an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner she can also recommend and provide hands on manual therapy. She provides care to people of all ages with a wide variety of concerns but has a special interest in women’s health, hormones, fertility, prenatal/postpartum care, and pediatrics. Megan has also completed further training to become a Naturopathic Doula and a Breastfeeding Educator to better support her patients.
Both Naturopathic and Osteopathic medicine see the body as a functioning whole with an innate ability to heal itself when all components are in balance and supported. By combining her naturopathic and osteopathic training, Dr. Meg provides well-rounded, holistic care that considers many aspects of health that contribute to a patient’s overall wellbeing.
Dr. Meg is a member of the Saskatchewan Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Nova Scotia Association of Naturopathic Doctors, the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors and the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths (NSAO). She is a 200hr trained Yoga teacher with additional training in Prenatal Yoga.
Outside of work, Meg enjoys spending time with her partner, appreciates nature through gardening and hiking, practices yoga, and loves cuddling up with a good book and her playful Portuguese water dog, Juniper.
